July Joys

July is almost never summer-like in England, which is a damn shame. But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been without its joys.

Gorgeous writing. Unexpected giggles. I read this on the recommendation of a friend not knowing what to expect and totally fell in love! Highly recommend.

(And it’s in KU!)

Vegan deliciousness

I’ve been vegetarian off and on my whole adult life, and although I’m currently cooking chicken like it’s my JOB, I’m trying to incorporate more vegan meals into my lunch rotation. I found this recipe for harissa sweet potatoes with chickpeas on Deliciously Ella’s Instagram and I loved it! If you’re not familiar with harissa, it’s a little bit spicy, so maybe start with less because you can always add more!

Also can recommend following Deliciously Ella on Instagram, in general. Lots of great recipes and she seems kind of lovely. Which, right now, feels like it counts for a lot.

Lucy in a bog.jpg

Happy Birthday, Lucy

Lucy turned 11 this month and she celebrated by wallowing in a muddy bog, which is one of her favorite things! This dog is honestly the sweetest dog EVER. (I know everyone says that about their dog, and we are ALL right!)

We got her back in the day because The Boy was scared of dogs and we wanted to nip that in the bud before it turned into a debilitating fear. It totally worked, and she has been a blessing for the whole family. One of my favorite parts of my day is when I come downstairs for my coffee and Lucy stands there and “talks” to me as I scratch behind her ears between sips. 🥰

Love Life HBO Max.jpg

Love Life on HBO Max

I’m not much of a TV watcher. In fact, the only time I really watch anything is when I’m on the elliptical - and I make sure to choose something that no one else in my house will even consider watching. Cue Love Life on HBO Max!

First of all, I love Anna Kendrik. And second of all, why aren’t more people talking about this show? I’ve seen nothing about it at all, but it’s smart and funny and, yes, a little bit sad, too. I’ve only watched a couple, but I’m looking forward to seeing how this story develops!
